The Saudi prince who is set to become the sole owner of Sheffield United has promised that he will keep faith with the club’s manager Chris Wilder.

A High Court ruling in favour of Prince Abdullah Bin Mosaad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, a member of the Saudi royal family, means that he can buy out the other 50 per cent of the club from Kevin McCabe, the long-time owner, for only £5 million. The judge in the case said the club was now valued at about £100 million.

McCabe, 71, has claimed Wilder will be “confused” by the outcome of the court case and insisted he has the energy to appeal against the ruling.
